Industry Employer Spotlight: RCC-BGM
An industry career lattice is a flexible plan to support employee training, upskilling, and certification on multiple pathways, responsive to the needs of industries and the economy. BSP is proud to partner with industry employers who support the potential of a professional and certified janitorial workforce. RCC-BGM is an exemplary leader of a labor-management partnership that facilitates these opportunities for employees.
Partnered since 2007 and serving over 1,000 employees to present day, RCC-BGM values its partnership with BSP, commending the organization for expanding the skill set of its workforce.
“Having BSP programs available to our janitorial employees creates a new sense of trust and comradery. The programs are conducive to the janitorial team’s learning,” says Daniel Montes, RCC-BGM VP of Business Operations.
“Employees enjoy going to class. They develop relationships with not only each other as colleagues; they also develop strong relationships with BSP instructors.”
RCC-BGM provides building services for various facilities, including corporate campuses, medical & retail locations, stadiums and event centers. They specialize in providing exceptional building services through quick responses, effective communication, and quality delivery. The company has developed an industry leading facility service team with a commitment to providing an exceptional experience for clients.
“Having access to different service trades within the various types of facilities we serve allows employees to grow in their careers,” notes Montes.
BSP offers Digital Literacy, ESL, and various Workforce Development programs to RCC-BGM employees. A noteworthy course, the Green Janitor Education Program is popular with participants.
“For [our] members that complete BSP certifications, RCC-BGM has created different uniforms and insignias for those individuals. It makes employees want to attend the courses. They want to obtain the knowledge BSP offers. It helps our company encourage employees to attend courses and advance in their careers and skill sets,” says Montes.
Seeing employees learn digital literacy skills has also been rewarding for the company executive.
“Everything in RCC-BGM’s systems is digital. Watching BSP participants learn how to send their first email, understand how to compute work orders, check their bank accounts, and read their kids’ report cards has helped both professionally and personally,” says Montes.
“What we want most is to support employees in BSP programs.”
BSP is grateful for our industry employer partners and their leadership in presenting workers with defined steps to build skills and advance through an innovative career lattice, rewarding them for progressive growth and commitment to the industry. A special thanks to RCC-BGM and all BSP partners!
