Industry Employer Spotlight: DMS Facility Services

BSP is grateful for our industry employer partners that enable our organization to connect with workers and facilitate programs. This collaboration improves the quality of life for janitorial service workers by providing them a chance to enhance their professional skills, access education, and experience opportunities for career and community advancement.

A valued industry employer, DMS Facility Services has been partnering with BSP since our inception in 2007. The labor-management collaboration offers industry driven Workforce Development Programs to responsible employers and its workforce. DMS Facility Services is a great example of this high-road partnership.

“We have been with BSP since its early days. From the first Infectious Disease Certification and Green Janitor Education Programs launched at our worksites, DMS employees have displayed a sense over ownership and pride that they bring to the workplace and home to their families,” says Loren Dotts, Vice President and General Manager of DMS Facility Services.

For the last 50 years, DMS Facility Services has been operating within the national real estate community. From inception through current day, the firm has experienced steady growth, an expanded footprint and greater depth in services through strategic service and client targeting.

With janitorial maintenance being one of the company’s service lines, DMS clients consist of multi-tenant office buildings and corporate campus facilities.

To bring industry employers, workers, and partners together, BSP develops curriculum and trains thousands of workers statewide.  BSP's innovative workforce development programs address the needs from workers, industry and labor for skill training.

“To experience employees’ excitement through BSP programs is a rewarding experience. Workers share their BSP projects, discuss topics such as water conservation tactics that are used at the workplace and at home. These green initiatives help DMS locations to be environmentally sustainable,” says Dotts.

BSP programs are designed to develop high-road industry-driven partnerships that provide equity, sustainability, and job quality through skills strategies designed to support economically and resilient communities. BSP programs include infectious disease certification, environmentally sustainable cleaning program, financial capabilities courses, English as a second language (ESL), digital literacy, citizenship & civic engagement, health and wellness, and parenting engagement programming.

A special thanks to DMS Facility Service and all BSP partners!

BSP’s high-road programs are part of the California Workforce Development Board’s High Road Training Partnership, which is funded through California Climate Investments, a statewide initiative that puts billions of Cap-and-Trade dollars to work reducing greenhouse gas emissions, strengthening the economy, and improving public health, and the environment — particularly in disadvantaged communities.
