BSP Board Member: Michele Ware
Michele Ware is the President of BOMA/GLA and administers the organization’s board of directors, strategic alliances, industry relations, community & civic relations, and association operations. She is responsible for an institution that is the commercial real estate industry’s unfailing advocate; representing diverse interests in their community and at all levels of government.
Michele is a mission-driven business executive proudly postured on Building Skills Partnership’s Board of Directors.
“BOMA represents a community of hardworking individuals that are part of the commercial real estate community. – From building owners, to janitors, facility managers, window washers and landscapers, BOMA provides value to those whose livelihoods are tied to this thriving community,” says Michele.
Since they were founded in 1915, BOMA/GLA has made it their mission to enhance and protect the value of commercial real estate in the Greater Los Angeles area. Representing 135 million square feet of office and industrial space, and contributing $3.5 billion to California’s economy annually, BOMA/GLA has a strong and effective voice when it comes to carrying out that mission.
With a 25 year career that is steeped in human relations and community development, Michele has been acquainted with Building Skills Partnership (BSP) since its inception in 2007.
Her work also focuses on advocacy for frontline workers, who were disproportionately devastated by the pandemic while working on the frontlines to help keep the public safe, clean, and moving forward. Michele advocates for a better cost of living, wages, and skill education for this deserving group.
“I have been with BOMA for 15 years and during that time, many of my colleagues have been involved in Building Skills Partnership’s incredible programs that offer property service workers educational opportunities focused on workforce development, immigrant integration, and community advancement. I am thrilled to now serve on BSP’s Board of Directors and contribute to programs that align with BOMA’s core values and community,” stated Michele.
Michele has seen BOMA and its community members transform over the years. With members representing every level of building operations and management, she has enjoyed experiencing the career mobility that the organization offers to those involved – helping to bridge individuals to key connections and affiliates in their own career paths.
BSP offers career mobility education to its program participants, and Michele values the synergies with BOMA. An industry career lattice is a flexible plan to support employee training, upskilling, and certification on multiple pathways, responsive to the needs of industries and the economy.
“I know janitors, property managers, painters, window washers, and landscapers at BOMA’s numerous buildings that have started their own companies and are now business owners,” said Michele. “I love to see people succeed. My job is to make people better.”
BSP is proud to partner with industry leaders who support the potential of a professional and certified janitorial workforce. Thank you for your commitment to BSP, Michele!
