Victor Narro is a fierce advocate of immigrant rights and labor issues. At the UCLA Labor Center, he provides research and capacity support for policy and organizing campaigns that focus on impact issues affecting low-wage workers and immigrant communities.

Martha Cox-Nikitman

Martha Cox-Nitikman is responsible for the policy direction of the 1500-member Building Owners and Managers Association of Greater Los Angeles, representing over 160 million square feet of commercial office space in LA. Martha coordinates local efforts on city, state, and national issues affecting building owners.

David Huerta is President of the SEIU-USWW, representing more than 45,000 janitors, security officers, and allied and entertainment workers throughout California. For over 20 years, David has been dedicated to improving the lives of workers and their families by creating a more just and humane society.

Denise Solis

Denise Solis

Denise is the Northern California Director for the SEIU-USWW. She began working as an organizer for the United Farm Workers Union (UFW) in the beginning of 2003 where she participated in the grape worker organizing campaigns in Delano, CA. She later worked on different organizing campaigns with strawberry and lettuce workers in Watsonville, CA.

Janna Shadduck-Hernandez

Janna’s research and teaching have focused on developing culturally relevant, participatory educational models with 1st and 2nd generation university students, community members, and youth. Her research and policy work also examines the organizing efforts of low-wage immigrant workers to combat labor and workplace violations.

Marc Gittleman

Marc is the CEO of 5x5 Telecom, a fiber optic ISP, and is an active investor in commercial real estate. He speaks frequently on real estate innovation through technology, creative leadership in implementing advanced technologies, and how this innovation aids the creation of investor return. Additionally, Marc is the Director and Chair-Elect of the Board of Directors for BOMA Greater Los Angeles.

Andrew Gross-Gaitan

Andrew has been with the SEIU-USWW since it was a small Bay Area local organizing Silicon Valley’s non-union janitors in the early 1990’s. Andrew helped build a coalition of Silicon Valley corporate leaders and janitorial contractors to create the ESL and second-language literacy program that became the backbone of BSP.

Alison Ascher-Webber

Director of Strategic Initiatives, EdTech Center

Alison leads the EdTech Center at World Education and develops innovative projects that leverage technology to increase outcomes of education, workforce, and community development initiatives. As Director of the Leadership, Training and Education Fund, she helped SEIU-USWW and responsible building service employers collaborate to expand training across Northern California and form the statewide Building Skills Partnership.

Marisol Rivera

Marisol Rivera

Vice President (Orange County and San Diego), SEIU-USWW

Marisol started working as a janitor at 18 years old at Paramount Pictures Studio. In 2000, her co-workers elected her as the strike captain for the Justice for Janitors campaign, which resulted in a successful union contract between workers and employers in Orange County for SEIU-USWW. Her leadership and commitment has led to insurmountable relief for janitors, immigrant communities, and low-wage workers in Orange County.

BSP’s Board of Directors

The board represents a unique partnership between labor and management. The Board of Directors is comprised of representatives from the SEIU-USWW, building service employers, client building owners, and the broader community. Despite coming from opposing ends of the bargaining table, BSP Board members are united in their commitment to supporting working families.
