San Diego Hike for Families

San Diego BSP participants enjoyed an incredible hike at Torrey Pines!

BSP’s Community Advancement team had the pleasure of hosting our first hike in San Diego! The adventure at Torrey Pines National Park showcased the vital role that nature offers in promoting health and fitness education.

Connecting with nature not only enhances physical well-being but also fosters mental wellness, providing families with a much needed break from daily stresses.

The stunning trails and coastline offered a perfect backdrop for connection and learning, especially through an interactive scavenger hunt organized by our dedicated BSP coordinators.

This activity encouraged curiosity and engagement with the environment. Participants also discovered the importance of caring for our oceans and learned how native tribes in San Diego have protected nature for generations.

The enriching experience fostered a sense of community and excitement, particularly since it was many participants’ first visit to a natural reserve.

A wholehearted THANK YOU to the Whale Tail Grants -California Coastal Commission for this incredible opportunity! Through their support, BSP was able to provide resources for families to engage with their surroundings and cultivate a love for nature.

Through this collaboration, BSP empowers individuals and families to connect meaningfully with their health and the environment, and we look forward to continuing these educational adventures throughout the year.
