Northern California property service worker, Irma

Irma has been a property service worker for 12 years and is currently a janitor at Flagship for Samsung in Northern California.

For the past three years, Irma has been participating in BSP's ESL and Digital Literacy classes in-person at BSP’s new Palo Alto office, as well as many Cafecitos.

Last summer, BSP partnered with Excite Credit Union and Self-Help Federal Credit Union to provide financial capability workshops to workers and their families. Irma participated in these workshops and has expanded her knowledge of credit, homebuying, and other personal financial topics.

Despite her demanding work schedule and the 89-mile commute from Santa Nella to Palo Alto, Irma remains dedicated to attending and participating in BSP classes and programming.

Irma is deeply motivated and eager to continue learning and taking steps to improve her life. She has expressed, "The BSP team are not just employees to me; they are like family. Whenever I talk or call them, they respond with kindness and always find a way to help me."

A sincere thank you to
the
Chan Zuckerberg Institute, Google, Sobrato Philanthropies, and United Way Bay Area for making these impactful programs possible.
