Nutrition and Health

Latino men and women in LA in front of purple sign

BSP offers Health and Wellness programs to property service workers throughout California and offers comprehensive, linguistically and culturally competent training & education that equips workers from low-wage industries and their families to lead healthy lives.

BSP had the opportunity to host two nutrition workshops at the LA and OC offices. Participants went through a six- hour training session where they learned about myPlate, portion control, grocery shopping best practices, budgeting and how to read nutrition labels.

They  practiced physical activity as well as replicated some healthy cooking demonstrations. Everyone enjoyed the delicious tuna wraps that they had created! The room was filled with laughter and rich conversations as they shared about their experiences and difficulties navigating a healthy life in the US.

Some expressed gratitude for allowing the space to learn from others peer janitors, while others were thankful for the opportunity to socialize and gather together. BSP would like to thank UnidosUS for allowing programs like this to reach our communities.
