BSP Participants in San Jose attended the Financial Capabilities workshops with JPMorgan Chase

Building Skills Partnership’s Financial Capabilities programs offer training and coaching to help frontline, property service workers meet their financial goals and achieve economic stability.

The success of these programs is deepened through collaborations with industry partners and supporters. 

BSP and JPMorgan Chase worked together to host a financial literacy workshop in San Jose. Led by Jenny Baltonado, JPMorgan Chase VP Community Manager; a presentation was conducted on important financial topics including: savings, budgeting, and understanding credit.

Throughout the session, the participants learned new concepts about tracking their expenses effectively in order to develop better saving habits. They engaged in practical exercises, which helped them grasp the importance of budgeting and how to allocate their income wisely.

A BSP participant stated that "attending the financial literacy workshop was incredibly beneficial. Learning about savings, budgeting, and understanding credit has given me a better understanding  to manage my finances and prepare for the future with confidence."

The JPMorgan Chase executive also addressed common myths about credit, providing clarity and dispelling misconceptions through an activity. 

The group gained valuable insights into the workings of credit, including how to maintain a good credit history, the importance of monitoring credit reports, and provided guidance on identifying theft and disputing fraudulent activities.

By the end of the workshop, the attendees felt empowered with practical knowledge and skills to manage their finances better.

Jenny's approachable and clear teaching style left a positive  impression, inspiring participants to apply these newfound financial strategies and use the tools in their daily lives.
